My mom and I were in Curacao for a scuba diving trip and I have always wanted to get into Freediving so I searched courses around and found Danny's course. I am so happy we did because this was the highlight of our trip! Danny was so friendly and patient and made me feel so comfortable in the water. First thing I did on the island were AIDA 2 and AIDA 3 courses with Danny from Freediving Curacao. It was a damn right choice which gave the awesome attitude to the whole further stay on Curaçao. Danny is super professional with a great passion about what he is doing - I felt super safe and comfortable during the whole courses, both in the water and between the sessions. Freediving is fun and safe, both relaxing and challenging, and Danny really makes you feel all the different sides of it in the right manner.

Geweldige ervaring om te leren freediven bij Daniel!
Heel bijzonder om dingen te doen met je lichaam waarvan je niet wist dat het kon, onderbouwt met duidelijke theorie en goede oefeningen. Daniel geeft je vanaf begin af aan de juiste ‘state of mind’ mee waardoor je goed in staat bent om volledig te ontspannen en te focussen. Daarnaast weet hij perfect te balanceren tussen aansluiten bij wat voor jou veilig/comfortabel voelt, en je uit te dagen om (in controle) wat meer van jezelf te vragen. Dat heb ik als zeer prettig ervaren. Als ik weer op Curaçao ben kom ik zeker terug voor een vervolg.

I’ve been wanting to learn how to freedive for a while and I’m happy that I learned with Danny in the crystal clear, beautiful waters of Curaçao. Danny puts the safety of his dive students above everything else, and knowing that I had him watching closely for any signs of problems allowed me to relax and focus on my dives. I joined his course just wanting to learn how to comfortably and elegantly dive to 10 meters but enjoyed it so much that I ended up doing the AIDA 3 certification with him. He is patient, attentive and relaxed, and encourages you to move at your pace - all the qualities you’d want in someone who is showing you the impressive and awesome act of diving deep.

Overcome your fears and dive into the deep blue. Say yes to freediving with Danny! Say yes if you are an adventurist, a nature-lover, a proper team-player and specially say yes, if you have fear of the deep dark blue whole (who doesn't). Freediving is for everyone. It is fun, challenging and playful. You decide how far you want to take it (within the safety-boundaries of the sport). Freediving, if done properly, is very safe and freediving with the Free Diving Curacao school is extra extra safe. Danny makes sure you are challenged yet you always feel supported and guarded. The process of learning to dive on one breath is a proper training with breathing techniques, learning how to fin, lot's off practicing and theory. I loved every minute of it. On every dive I met new student-divers of Danny and we all supported and motivated each other. Your snorkel experiences and the way you feel under water will never be the same. Just try it out!

I took the AIDA Level 2 course with Danny and was really impressed with his professionalism and teaching style. He is really responsive over email and his friendliness and care with responses made me confident that he would be a really good instructor - and he is! He tailors his comments to each individual person so that even if you're in a group, you feel like you are being given support specific to you and your own needs. Also, while Danny got certified as an instructor with AIDA, he also has had training with PFI, constantly keeps up-to-date with the freediving community, and has competed in championships - and he shares his knowledge! He supplements the AIDA training manual with more information from his own experiences, which gave me a stronger foundation of both theory and practice. Finally, Danny is strongly safety-oriented and you will definitely leave the course feeling prepared in case anything goes wrong. I had a great time completing this course with Danny and will be back if I try for AIDA Level 3. Highly recommend!
